Big Tech is too cowardly to run ads for the ‘Musk’ documentary.

YouTube, TikTok, and Meta have all apparently rejected the trailer for Alex Gibney’s documentary, scheduled to hit theaters on October 9th. It’s not surprising that X has refused to take distributor Bleecker Street’s calls given its owner’s notoriously thin skin. But as The Hollywood Reporter notes:

Big Tech is too cowardly to run ads for the ‘Musk’ documentary.

TL;DR

  • YouTube, TikTok, and Meta initially rejected the trailer for Alex Gibney's documentary.
  • X also refused to take calls from the distributor, Bleecker Street.
  • The rejections sparked concerns about free speech and platform control.
  • The documentary reportedly examines how its subject attempts to control conversation, including alleged suppressions on X.
  • An update indicates YouTube and Meta will now reportedly run the ads.
