Flydubai Cockpit Attack Forces Tel Aviv Flight Diversion

A Flydubai service bound for Tel Aviv was diverted after an alleged cockpit assault between pilots. The captain, crew and passengers were credited with helping avert a far more serious emergency.

The Flydubai flight was en route to Tel Aviv when an alleged attack inside the cockpit turned the journey into an acute safety crisis. One pilot reportedly assaulted the other, forcing the aircraft away from its intended destination and putting control of the flight at the centre of the emergency.

The danger was measured not only in the confrontation but in the speed at which the aircraft reportedly lost altitude: one account characterises the episode as a plunge of 18,000 feet in 90 seconds, framing it as a near-catastrophe rather than a routine diversion.

The captain ultimately regained control, while cabin crew and passengers helped restrain the situation and prevent it from escalating further. A separate report singled out an Indian Flydubai pilot for praise, presenting the recovery as an act of composure under extraordinary pressure.

The two accounts converge on the central point: the flight’s diversion was not merely precautionary. It followed a breakdown in the cockpit itself—and, according to the reports, was contained only through the combined intervention of those on board.
