Linus Torvalds says Linux is “not one of those anti-AI projects.”
“I realize that some people really dislike AI, but this is an area where I’m willing to absolutely put my foot down as the top-level maintainer,” Torvalds said this week in a message, as reported by The Register. If someone has issues with Linux not being anti-AI, “they can do the open-source thing and fork it.”

TL;DR
- Linus Torvalds, the top-level maintainer of Linux, has declared the project is not anti-AI.
- He is firm on this stance and willing to defend it.
- Torvalds suggested that individuals with issues about Linux not being anti-AI should fork the project.
