TL;DR
- Airbnb is banning hosts from requiring guests to perform significant chores like washing dishes, doing laundry, or taking out trash.
- New rules, effective for bookings from November 20th, limit requests to tasks like putting dirty dishes in the sink or gathering towels.
- Hosts are prohibited from adding extra chore requests via messages or signs.
- Some hosts have expressed opposition, citing health risks and the option for guests to choose different listings.
- Exceptions exist, such as asking guests to dispose of trash in animal-proof containers in specific environments like bear country.
